San Antonio Does it Again...

Once Ron Jeremy and Jeff Foxworthy were done singing the National Anthem...

...Tim Duncan and the Spurs dethroned the Pistons
Count me with the rest of the nay-sayers who thought Detroit would use the momentum from their Game 6 victory in San Antonio to win Game 7, the series and their second straight NBA title. It was a close game, but in the end, the Spurs had just enough to take the championship.

Looked like Tim Duncan was kinda sleepwalking for the first two quarters of this game. However, he woke up in the 2nd half, scoring 17 of his 25 points to secure Finals MVP honors. Hell, he even made 5 of his 6 free throw shots in the game.

As we already peek ahead to '05-'06, the Spurs will probably be odds-on favorites to win again. As for Detroit, it depends a little bit on their coaching situation. If Larry Brown runs off to that front-office job in Cleveland, a new head coach will bring a completely new dynamic to this team, which could be good or bad.

So congrats to the Spurs and their fans...even Justin Neeley, you a-hole!

At least now he can actually concentrate on being a board op.
