The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree...

Two Jerks

Winslow Sr. rips media for coverage of son

The Evil Media strikes again!!! Forget the fact that Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. thought he was Evil Knievel and got in a wreck while doing stunts on his motorcycle...tearing up his knee which will cause him to miss the upcoming NFL season. Now Daddy, Hall of Famer Kellen Sr., is trying to shift the focus from his knothead son to the reporters who are covering the story:

“You guys look at it as a moment in time and you blow it out of proportion. This Jerry Springer mentality of journalism, you guys are better than that. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Presidents make mistakes. Senators make mistakes. Journalists, if you still call yourselves that, make mistakes.”

Huh? Blow it out of proportion, Kellen? Your son, a highly-paid NFL player who is coming off a rookie season where he only played 2 of 16 games due to injury, tore up his knee while popping wheelies in a parking lot!!! Not your standard off-season injury. I think it's fair that the media would like to find out exactly what's going on behind the whole thing.

Man, what a couple of pompous jerks these Winslows are. First you have Kellen Jr., while still playing at the University of Miami, comparing football to "war" and himself as a "soldier" during a hissy-fit after a loss. Now we finally get to see where he got his mic skills with this whine-session from Pops.

I remember watching Kellen Sr. back in that amazing 1982 AFC playoff game against the Miami Dolphins, where he fought off dehydration and fatigue to help the Chargers to an improbable overtime victory. Unfortunately, that image has now been replaced with the one of Daddy Kellen crying about how his poor multi-millionaire son is being mistreated. Give me a break...
