London 2012...be there! (story)

Make your travel plans now...the 2012 Summer Olympics will be in London. New York City was one of the finalists who made a huge push to try to get the Games, but losing the bid might actually be a blessing in disguise. I know that hosting the Olympics can bring billions of dollars into an economy, but it also brings a lot of headaches as well...most notably, terrorism.

We are going on 4 years since the attacks on September 11, and I really don't want to give Al Qaeda or any other group more reason to plot against our country. Security at an Olympics is tremendously tight, but if someone wants to cause trouble, they'll find a way. (remember Atlanta '96?)

It does make me giggle that Paris got snubbed in the voting...I heard that 15 minutes after the announcement, the entire country surrendered.
